The Challenge

This luxury travel brand had a premium identity and a strong visual website. But the underlying search infrastructure was weak. Important pages were not being indexed consistently. Structured data coverage was limited. The site had low visibility across Google and AI search platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. In a category where buyers compare premium operators side by side, that limited both discoverability and competitive position.

Before Intelitune
  • Crawlability and indexation gaps across commercial pages
  • Weak sitemap and indexing coverage across destination and itinerary URLs
  • Canonical and technical SEO issues reducing search clarity
  • Limited schema markup across service and brand pages
  • Low search traction: 20 clicks, 1.6K impressions, and 1.23% CTR in the baseline period
  • Weak competitive position: #22 in the benchmark, with 26.8% visibility and 0.7% SOV
After Intelitune
  • Indexed page count increased to 30, with stronger coverage across destination and commercial URLs
  • Sitemap infrastructure cleaned up and submitted successfully
  • Technical SEO foundation improved for crawlability, indexation, and AI crawler access
  • Search performance improved to 415 clicks, 8.29K impressions, and 5% CTR
  • GA4 showed 14K event count, 1.8K active users, 1.8K new users, and 956 engaged sessions
  • Industry ranking improved from #22 to #9, with visibility rising from 26.8% to 58.3% and SOV from 0.7% to 1.6%
Our Approach

An integrated Technical SEO + AEO + GEO framework

01 — Technical SEO Revamp

Fixed the foundation: crawlability, indexation, sitemaps, and AI crawler access.

Intelitune started with a technical diagnosis across crawlability, indexation, sitemap coverage, canonical control, and Core Web Vitals. Using SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console, we identified where discovery was breaking down and which URLs were being under-served. We then cleaned up sitemap infrastructure, improved indexing coverage, and implemented LLMs.txt to support AI crawler access alongside traditional search crawling.

Sitemap proof — /sitemap.rss, /sitemap.xml, /page-sitemap.xml all Success
Indexed pages growth — 30 indexed pages including /greece/ and /portugal/
02 — On-Page & Content Optimization

Restructured information for stronger entity clarity, not more content volume.

Next, we reworked core pages for stronger topical coverage, intent alignment, and clearer E-E-A-T signals. That included metadata refinement, tighter internal linking, multilingual targeting, and schema markup across Organization, FAQPage, Services, and WebPage. The goal was not content volume. It was better structured information, stronger entity clarity, and better retrieval across Google, AI Overviews, and LLM-driven search platforms.

Content performance — Clicks 256, Impressions 5.55K, homepage 203 clicks, Greece +333%, Portugal +20%, Italy itineraries +200%
03 — AEO & GEO Integration

Layered AI search optimization on top of strong SEO fundamentals.

Once the technical and on-page foundations were in place, we extended the work into answer engine and generative search optimization. Intelitune structured content for conversational retrieval, improved citation readiness, strengthened entity connections, and deployed schema and content patterns designed for AI Overviews, People Also Ask, and LLM summarization. Intelitune approached the engagement through an integrated Technical SEO + AEO + GEO framework, measured against traffic and engagement rather than visibility metrics alone.

Website Analytics

GA4 engagement

GA4 showed stronger engagement alongside search growth during the reporting period. That matters because traffic without engagement is weak proof. In this case, the gains showed up in both.

AI Visibility

LLM platform performance

Platform Visibility Sentiment Rank
ChatGPT100%82/100#1
Perplexity100%84/100#1
Gemini98%83/100#2
Claude96%82/100#2
Copilot94%81/100#3

AI visibility matters because more buyers now test vendors inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews before they visit a website. But visibility alone is not enough. That is why this case study pairs AI platform performance with Search Console and GA4 data.

Key Takeaways
01

Technical accessibility still determines discoverability

Search and AI systems cannot retrieve what they cannot crawl, index, and interpret. Sitemap health, canonical control, indexed page coverage, and crawl guidance remain foundational.

02

Schema architecture improves machine comprehension

Organization, FAQPage, Services, and WebPage schema help search engines and LLMs build cleaner relationships between brand, service, and destination entities.

03

AEO and GEO work best when layered onto strong SEO fundamentals

Answer engine optimization is not a replacement for technical SEO. It compounds when entity clarity, structured data, internal linking, and content quality are already in place.

04

Visibility only matters when engagement follows

The strongest proof in this case study is not just AI visibility or ranking movement. It is the combination of 415 clicks, 14K events, 1.8K active users, and a stronger competitive position against named luxury travel brands.
